With the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League around the corner, the franchises are busy preparing for the event by playing practice games on their home grounds. Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings are two franchises who are making a comeback in the tournament after a gap of two years. Even before the tournament has kicked off, spectators are turning up in big numbers even for CSK’s practice games to cheer for their favorite cricketers. Amid all the action, the cricketers are also taking out time to shoot ad commercials and videos for their franchise’s social media accounts.
Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni, who was on Monday conferred with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award, has also likely shot for popular Indian comedian Sunil Grover’s upcoming show. Sunil, who has teamed up with Bigg Boss 11 winner Shilpa Shinde for his new show, was seen with MS Dhoni.
According to a report in spotboye.com, India’s World Cup winning skipper Kapil Dev and former cricketer Virender Sehwag have joined Sunil Grover-Shilpa Shinde’s show which is said to be based on cricket.
Grover, together with fellow comedian Kapil Sharma, had become extremely popular for his avatars in the Kapil Sharma Show but the two actors had an infamous fall-out which forced the former to quit the show. Despite numerous talks of the two ending their cold war, the same never happened and relations only got worse with time. While Kapil has already started his new show, it remains to be seen what the future holds for Sunil.
On the cricketing front, CSK coach Stephen Fleming earlier revealed that fans will get to see Dhoni bat higher in the batting order in IPL 2018. “MS will be relatively high. The time that we choose may depend on the match situation as well. He would definitely play a more prominent role as a batter,” Fleming said when asked about Dhoni’s probable batting position.
