Lucknow: The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh directed the police to file an FIR against BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Senga, who has been accused of raping a teenage girl in Unnao last year, and decided to refer the probe to the Central Bureau of Investigation for further investigation. The government also decided to recommend a CBI probe into the alleged murder of the rape victim’s father, who died in judicial custody a few days ago. As per reports, an FIR has been lodged against the BJP MLA at Makhi police station. The state government’s decision came just minutes after the ruling party MLA made a dramatic appearance at the official residence of Lucknow’s top cop at midnight on Wednesday in order to reiterate his innocence in the case of the alleged rape of the teenage girl and that he had no role to play in the death of her father . In an apparent show of strength, rape accused BJP MLA Sengar traveled to the Lucknow SSP’s residence in a 20-car cavalcade and appeared to respond to media’s questions in a brazen manner.
Speaking exclusively to the Media, Sengar said that he had gone to visit the SSP office “to surrender”, however, he returned as the police “informed him that there was no warrant against him”. Reiterating that he has nothing to do with the alleged rape, Sengar said that he has not had a word with UP CM Yogi Adityanath and senior leaders of the BJP. He blamed the media for running a trial against him and added that he “will surrender” when the police ask him to. Meanwhile, according to news agency ANI, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Lucknow Police was investigating the custodial death of the father of the woman, who was allegedly raped by the BJP MLA and his accomplices. Additional Director General (ADG) of Lucknow zone Rajeev Krishna had earlier told reporters that a report would be sent to the administration by evening and assured that “all the angles of the case” would be examined.
Additionally, the government ordered the suspension of two senior doctors of Unano district hospital and also announced that disciplinary action will be taken against three other doctors of the jail department for “dereliction in duty and negligence” while attending to the alleged rape victim’s father, who died in judicial custody on Monday, the Times of India reported. Reportedly, the state government has also suspended a deputy superintendent of police rank officer for allegedly not taking any action on the complaint of the rape survivor and her family in the past.
The high drama at the official residence of Lucknow’s SSP took place at around 11: 36 pm and lasted for nearly six minutes as the accused BJP MLA, thronged by his supporters, arrived at the place along with a throng of supporters, all traveling in a cavalcade of 20 luxury vehicles. Sengar trashed reports that he had had underground since the case came to the fore and stated, “I was attending to my wife who has been hospitalized after she took ill.
